Communication is key in understanding a client, our client wanted use to re-write the content of the work as well as design it which is unusual for a graphic designer to do. The group was hesitant to confront the client as the workload was over 16 pages long and would have cause too much work but also was scared to upset the client. When we spoke to her, naturally she was understanding and i learnt that by confronting people with problems it wont cause the client to leave. It just means you don’t disappoint the client by not doing what they tell you do to. The interior of the passport consisted of graphs and tables. I came up with an idea that meant Dee could use her in house Graphic Designer to complete the finishing tasks. For example, by creating a template of a table, the graphic designer could insert the information needed. We asked Dee about this and she agreed and said that it was a great idea. I then had a look at the graphs they had previously used and noticed they were very basic and undesigned. Dee wanted something more designed and creative. I conducted some research into this and found some designed tables and how they can look if done right. By taking the initiative to create a document that was right for both us as designers and the client and coming up with creative solutions so the client would be able to edit it, I showed myself I can be concise and useful when problems occur and help ensure the client walks away happy.
