So question right now is, do I know anything about football? See I would like to think I know the bare minimum about football, I know when a team scores a goal and I know about Christiano Ronaldo. With my brilliant knowledge of football, I decided to help myself and under go some research about football. When researching this topic, I decided to try to understand the features that football entails. I steered away from the rules and gameplay. Leaving behind how to score a goal, I lead my research down the path of themes, styles, colours and features. For example, the pitch is always green with two tones of green – with white lines to mark the pitch. A lot of the football kits stem from lines like the pitch, using colours from red, white, green and blue. Football team logos use stereotypical emblems with mascots, banners, badges or circular formats. Below I have inserted an image of a moodboard I created which contains different elements I took when trying to understand themes of football.

I have inserted an image in my moodboard of the pitch, I have also used football team logos to ensure I had a wide range of reference styles. I also believed the image of the actual ball was important becuase it uses a hexagonal structure which can later be used in my work. I then took the eyedropper tool and sampled different colours from the images. This was so I managed to get a swatch palette for reference.
