The world is ever changing, it is moving at the fastest pace ever with a population of 7.7 billions, nearly one truck load of plastic waste is dumped into the ocean every minute. This is such a great amount of rubbish and waste. Plastic takes 1000 years to decompose, meaning for those thousand years, its just floating around the ocean, making its way into rivers, streams and ponds. Many marine life organisms can’t tell the difference between plastic and other edible bits of debris. Therefore, they consume them. It is estimated that over 100 million marine animals are killed each year by plastic waste. This include species of fish, seals and birds. Marine life is vital to human and global cycles. They are needed in systems to help produce all the vital minerals that we consume and use.

Plastic never really decays. For example, a plastic bag will break down over hundreds of years into smaller particles called polymer toxins. Then in the long-term, these pollute the ocean in concentrated ways. Therefore, can pollute waters and kill marine life and humans in other ways of poisoning.

Many businesses and companies are adopting a new approach in reducing plastic pollution and helping marine life. There are so many new and upcoming campaigns for this issue. Therefore, it will be hard to target such a widespread issue and to make sure I tackle it in the correct way to call for action.
